Ebenezer Swamp Ecological Preserve,

Montevallo, Alabama

Ebenezer Swamp is located about six miles from campus and is home to a myriad of plant and animal species Among the sycamore and Tupelo gum trees are beavers, turkeys, and a rare species of cone flower. The swamp is host to a number of biology and environmental science classes. A boardwalk was created to give access to students for study and observation of the natural elements. The boardwalk was built in a method to minimize disturbance of the swamp and its inhabitants.
