Birmingham, Alabama
Railroad Park is a 19 acre park which is part of the Railroad Reservation, green-space or a "green river" identified by the City of Birmingham in the early 1980’s to promote growth and attract people to live in the City Center. A public private partnership between the City of Birmingham and the Railroad Park Foundation was opened in fall of 2010 and designed by landscape architect Tom Leader Studio. Ross Land Design (later Macknally Ross) was the local landscape architecture firm on the team assisting in master planning and implementation. RR Park has acted as a catalyst for growth in the area with the new Regions Ball Field and residential and commercial development occurring along the way. Jane Reed Ross participated in the schematic and design development phases.
